Student Delegate/Alternate Delegate

Students have a unique opportunity to apply for a position as a Student Delegate or Alternate. As a student delegate, you not only represent all student members of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, but you also sit on the House of Delegates floor during all three meetings. Each student will be considered for the student delegate position.

If you are not selected as the student delegate, you will automatically be considered for the alternate delegate position. Student Delegates and Alternates are funded to attend their district workshop and the American Dental Hygienists' Association Annual Session. Funding consists of airfare, lodging (two students per room), ground transportation, and per diem.

Each of the twelve ADHA Districts will select one Student Delegate and one Student Alternate Delegate.

Just read what ADHA Student Delegates/Alternates had to say about their experience:

"This experience was, without doubt, the best experience that I have had since I began dental hygiene school."
- Amanda R., District I

"I would definitely encourage others to apply for the Student Delegate/Alternate Student Delegate position. The initial reason to get others to apply is the fully paid flight and hotel to get the interest of other students. But the biggest reason to apply is for the once-in-a-lifetime experience because this was an experience I would never forget." - Kyle V., District III

Student Advisory Board

Apply to be one of four students selected to represent student issues, challenges, and viewpoints on the ADHA's Committee on Student Relations (CSR). The Student Advisory Board (SAB) members are in contact with the CSR throughout the year via email and conference calls. The SAB members are able to assist with planning the student track for ADHA's Center for Lifelong Learning at Annual Session. The SAB members are appointed by ADHA's President.

Applications for Student Table Clinic and Research Poster Sessions, as well as the Student Member Community Service Award, are now available. Applications are due each year in early Spring. Click Here for more information
