Job Description

The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR), Division of Public Health, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health Education Consultant for the Epidemiology Branch.
The incumbent for this position will assess individual and community needs for health education on lead (Pb) poisoning prevention. As Health Educator, will coordinates the planning of effective health education, communication and public awareness activities for the Georgia Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (GCLPPP), the candidate also will provides technical assistance, training, and guidance to program staff in developing and implementing lead (Pb) education, communications, and public awareness activities for assigned program areas. In addition, guidance is provided to staff in evaluating the effectiveness of health education programs. Some Travel may be required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in health education, sociology, psychology, social work, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of experience in health education or a closely related area.
Preference will be give to applicants who, in addition to meeting the above requirements meets the following:
• Master of Public Health Degree
