President's Message:

Hello, my name is Michelle Boyce and I will be serving as the Cherokee DHS President for the 2009-2010 year. I am honored and excited to have this opportunity to serve a great group of hygienists.

Being a part of ADHA/GDHA/ and Cherokee DHS provides such great networking opportunities, valuable continuing education course, and wonderful friendships. So, I encourage everyone to join ADHA and become active in your state and local component.

Thank You,
Michelle Boyce, RDH

Message from the editor:

To my fellow hygienists; Greetings! Where did the summer go?? It seems as if I was just writing you in April. For some of us this may be a bitter sweet change for others it may be a relief. The kids are gearing up for another school year ALREADY!!! Here we go again! I enjoy the routine: wake up, school, homework and bed, initially, but then I along with the kids tire of it rather quickly. With the end of summer we can look forward to cooler days and nights ahead. The seasonal change is a good time to change up our operating systems ladies. We need to renew and refresh ourselves. Don't get into the rut of practicing the same old hygiene routine. Spice it up a little. Laugh often and enjoy yourself despite the grumpy 8 am patient. You may find that a little extra attention to your patient may cheer them up. Remember your mood in the beginning of the day determines what your mood for the rest of the day is. For all of you who have an active prayer life, put on some upbeat prayer music on your ride in. If you don't listen to inspirational music that's ok an upbeat favorite song will do. Fun and good times are contagious. Life is too short! Remember we can only control ourselves, you cannot control anyone else. Ladies we can control our hygiene destiny. May you be blessed!!

Janeime Asbury RDH, BS
