President's Message:
Hello my name is Janeime Asbury. I am both honored and nervous to be serving as the Cherokee Component president for the 2007-2008 year. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have four children, two girls 11, and 9 and two boys both 3.
I want to start off by saying that in my office we are all about customer service. Not necessarily that the patient is always right, but more so what can we do to make your appointment as pleasant as possible. You see I am a servant at heart, so my question to you as members and non members of the Cherokee Component of the GDHA would be what we can do to make this group more compatible with your needs. Think about it, many of us spend at least the first 10-15 minutes of an appointment providing comfort and direction or any input what so ever to our patients. Oftentimes I personally have been emotionally drained by the end of a workday, just from processing the many woes of some of my most troubled patients.
Well I think it is time that we extend the highest form of customer service to ourselves. We are the givers in this field, but we need to give to ourselves first. When we fill up with a sense of purpose and a goal, we are available for the many people who will tap our well.
My goal for this upcoming term is to make your dealings with the Cherokee component of the GDHA your never ending supply of refreshment. I would love to be able to rejuvenate you in your career and mind by offering information on the things that you want to hear about which directly effect us working today.
Thank You,
Janeime Asbury, RDH |

Message from the editor:
Happy Holiday's Everyone! This is the time of year that we usually spend reflecting on the things we are thankful for. I myself am thankful for my health, family, friends, and boss. Yes you heard
correctly, I am thankful that I am still gainfully employed. With the economy the way that it has been I know a lot of my fellow hygienist out there are a little unsure of their future. Many of my
friends and associates have had their hours cut causing financial stress and worry. Ladies we have to remember during these tumultuous times that all things come to an end and this too shall pass.
I think that it is the perfect time to reassess the important things in life and focus on those positive things to pull you through this tough time of year. I wish you and your families the best this Christmas season and I leave you with my favorite verse from the book
of Matthew 24:13 But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Janeime Asbury RDH, BS
